History of Oy Esmarin Composites Ltd
1992: Esmarin Oy is founded in Punkaharju by Esa Tynkkynen. The company initially focuses on the manufacture and repair of boats.
1993: Production of the lower and side hatches of Pendolino trains begins.
1994: Production of the ceiling panels for IC train carriages begins. The company focuses on rail equipment products.
1996: Production of IC train carriage end covers and battery boxes begins. A move to more suitable production facilities in Savonlinna.
2000: Contract manufacturing of boats begins on a small scale.
2002: Contract manufacturing of boats for Konekesko Oy begins.
2004: Contract manufacturing of boats for Bella Veneet Oy begins. More production space is introduced in the Teknola area.
2006: A production plant is destroyed in a fire and construction of a new plant begins.
2007: A new plant designed for composite production is completed.
2008: The boat market is in crisis. Production for Konekesko and Bella boats ends
2009: The company starts operations under the name Oy Esmarin Composites Ltd and starts the production of Sea Star boats. The design of Drive and Buster boats begins in collaboration with Fiskars Boats.
2010: Production of IC sleeper carriage, toilet and shower modules begins. Production of Drive and Buster boats begins.
2011: The design of composite systems for low-floor trams begins.
2012: The boat market is one again in crisis. Production of Sea Star boats is discontinued. Production of Drive and Buster boats is transferred to Poland. The ISO9001 quality and management system is certified.
2013: Low-floor tram composite systems are delivered for pre-series trams in Helsinki. Production of bathroom floor elements start for STX Finland. Production of Finnmaster boats begins.
2014: The series production design of composite systems for low-floor trams begins. Production of Finnmaster 52SC boats begins. Manufacturing of bathroom floor elements continues for Meyer Werft.
2015: The manufacture of boats is abandoned. The series production design of composite systems for low-floor trams begins. Manufacturing of bathroom floor elements continues for Meyer Werft. The production of special vehicle parts also picks up when the production of machine guards for Dinolift begins.
2015: The manufacture of special vehicle parts expands. Cooperation with Snowek Oy begins in the design and manufacture of innovative Trombia sweepers.
2016: Deliveries of bathroom floor elements continue. The floor elements of the MS6 cruiser are delivered. Cooperation with Sandvik Mining and Construction begins with machine guards for the Sandvik Commando DC130Ri.
2017: Deliveries of bathroom floor elements continue. Serial production of the first phase of low-floor trams continues. The first major export transaction is concluded and deliveries of bathroom floor elements to France begin.
2018: The pace of manufacturing bathroom floor elements is accelerating and the production of new trams in Helsinki is running at full capacity. The company is growing at a brisk pace, new staff are being hired and production lines are being developed with major investments.
2019: Shipbuilding products continue to grow, serial deliveries of mining machine masks to Normet begin and deliveries of rail equipment products continue. The design of the Tampere tram begins. Esmarin doubles its staff and production, compared to a couple of years ago.
2020: The first deliveries for the Tampere tram begin.
